Tactical Training Academy Membership: Strike Team Program
TTA Members consist of all ages, experience levels, and professions brought together to hone their tactics and character when under attack. Members are divided into strike teams of six to eight individuals, or three couples. Each team meets monthly to conduct advanced training, share meals, and study material in accordance with the TTA curriculum.
No experience is necessary.
TTA Membership: Year One Strike Team
Knowledge. Virtue. Discipline.
“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” — Joshua 1:9
A firearm is a tool. Carrying one is a responsibility.
For the Christian, that responsibility extends beyond technical proficiency. It encompasses character, self-control, courage, humility, wisdom, stewardship, and a commitment to protect and serve others.
At the TTA, we believe that a person should never pursue greater capability without pursuing greater character.
Our Advanced Combatives and Firearms Training Program combines serious firearms development, defensive tactics, combatives training, force-on-force simulation, tactical decision-making, and scenario-based training with principles of Living Well.
You won't just learn how to survive. You'll learn how to thrive.
The Strike Team is a year-long discipleship and development environment designed to help men and women become competent, disciplined, courageous, self-controlled, and prepared to protect others when circumstances demand it.
For decades, elite military and law-enforcement teams have used realistic simulation and force-on-force training to develop decision-making under stress. TTA brings that training philosophy into a Christian environment—recognizing that skill without character can become dangerous, and courage without wisdom can become recklessness.
Choose to Live Well.
Train to Die Well.
TTA Members are organized into Strike Teams of 6–8 individuals who train, develop, study, and fellowship together at least once each month around their regular working/life schedules. Members make a 12-month commitment to their team. Teams may include individuals and couples of any faith or philosophical standpoint who share a commitment to personal development, growth, fellowship, tactical firearms proficiency, physical preparedness, and responsible protection of others.
Each training year combines:
-
Advanced Firearms Training
-
Defensive Handgun Development
-
Advanced Combatives
-
Fundamentals Under Stress
-
Force-on-Force Simulation
-
Scenario-Based Decision-Making
-
Close-Quarters & Building-Clearing Concepts
-
Vehicle-Based Defensive Concepts
-
Low-Light Firearms Training
-
Movement and Threat Recognition
-
Firearm Retention and Ground Survival
-
Stress Inoculation
-
Tactical Communication
-
Team Coordination
-
Emergency Medical Response
-
Threat Recognition and Crisis Decision-Making
Every month, teams study principles that address the character required to responsibly possess and exercise lethal-force capability.
We emphasize principles including:
Courage without recklessness.
Strength without pride.
Discipline without rigidity.
Authority without arrogance.
Confidence without self-reliance.
Preparedness without fear.
Leadership through service.
Self-control under pressure.
Wisdom before action.
Protection of others over preservation of self.

TTA Membership: Hard to Kill Competition
Test your mettle. Strengthen your character. Build your brotherhood.
TTA Members and Graduates have the opportunity to compete annually in our Winter and Summer “Hard to Kill” Competitions—two demanding events designed to test the complete individual, not simply the shooter.
Hard to Kill combines firearms proficiency, advanced combatives concepts, physical endurance, problem-solving, teamwork, mental resilience, and decision-making under pressure. Competitors are challenged in heat, cold, fatigue, stress, and uncertainty alongside a cadre of like-minded men and women committed to becoming more capable, disciplined, and resilient.
The competition is deliberately designed to expose weaknesses while rewarding preparation, composure, adaptability, and perseverance.
Competitions regularly include:
-
Quick Draw & Defensive Handgun Skills — Speed, accuracy, discipline, and safe gun handling under pressure.
-
High-Stress Firearms Courses — Dynamic shooting problems designed to test decision-making, accuracy, and performance when the heart rate is elevated.
-
Long-Distance Engagements — Precision rifle challenges extending to 1000+ yards, testing fundamentals, environmental awareness, patience, and consistency.
-
Emergency Evacuation Challenges — Move, communicate, problem-solve, and safely evacuate a person when fatigue and time pressure are working against you.
-
Endurance Events — Physical challenges designed to test determination, conditioning, and the ability to continue performing when the body wants to quit.
-
Mental Resilience Challenges — Problems requiring concentration, strategic thinking, and composure when competitors are tired and under pressure.
-
Timed Chess Competition — Because tactical competence isn't enough. You still have to think.
-
Best Dessert — Because fellowship, food, and a little friendly competition are part of the mission too.
The person who is "HARD TO KILL" is the one who can adapt, communicate, maintain discipline, make good decisions, and continue performing when conditions become difficult.
